It has long been the suspicion of the local towns people that the station is haunted by a large pidgeon who has been nicknamed Herbert. The town is famed for it's fish and it is a long standing belief that it is fish that attracts the aformention white pidgeon.

The train station is often also considered a favourite amongst the film and pornography industries.[citation needed]
