Grimsargh railway station

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Grimsargh railway station was a railway station on the single track branch line to Longridge. It served the town of Grimsargh in Lancashire.

Near Grimsargh station was a junction where a standard gauge branch line diverged to serve Whittingham Hospital. During this period Grimsargh had two operational stations, with one serving the hospital branch.

The line closed to passengers in 1930, although the Hospital Railway continued to be used until 1957 when its single steam locomotive was condemned. The line's goods service was finally withdrawn in 1967.
