[edit] Early days

Important note: This account of Grigor II's life is based on the assumption one plays using the recommendations of the Empire Earth official strategy guide and does not conform to all possible outcomes.

Grigor II was the work of scientist Dr. Alexi Septimus, an expert in the field of robotics. During the invasion of Ukraine by Grigor Stoyanovich's Novaya Russia, Septimus set out to return to his homeland of Russia to offer assistance to Stoyanovich. He gets the opportunity to meet Grigor after Kiev is taken, where he offers to teach Grigor's scientists how to build cybers. To help perqude Grigor, he offers him the Rostov JK1 cyber, the culmination of his work, as a personal gift to the Russian leader.

Grigor accepts, and makes the Rostov cyber his personal bodyguard. With the cyber technologies, Grigor is able to complete his plans to conquer Europe, but his plans for world domination stall in the Middle East and Africa, and it becomes clear that he will be unable to conquer the world in his lifetime.

[edit] Becoming leader of Novaya Russia

Grigor had wished to pass on his legacy to an heir, but he had discovered he was in fact sterile. Faced with few options, Grigor decided to take advantage of advances in robotics technologies to have the Rostov cyber, his bodyguard, made sentient. This was accomplished, and Stoyanovich proceeded to teach everything he knew to his robotic bodyguard, eventually dubbing him Grigor II.

In the year 2064, Stoyanovich declared Grigor II to be his heir. The Novaya Russian people did not grumble too much, but the leaders of the Russian army went berserk. Four major officers, led by one General Yukov, launched a coup against Grigor and Grigor II. They were tipped off, however, by a young lieutenant, Sergei Molotov, and the coup was shut down. Tragically, Grigor Stoyanovich, already in poor health, died shortly afterwards of a heart attack, leaving Grigor II in charge.

Grigor II rewarded the loyalty of Molotov, promoting him to the rank of Major. At the same time, he began the next phase of his predecessor's plans of world domination, the conquest of China.

[edit] Conquest of China

China, however, proved to be too great a force for the paramilitary Black Robe troops of Novaya Russia. Running out of options, Grigor II took Molotov and a small number of cybers into a daring raid into China to capture their cyber-production facilities. Their endeavors were successful, and the conquest of China was successfully completed afterwards. In China, Grigor II and Molotov were able to capture a good amount of Chinese nano technology, which they adapted to serve their own purposes.

In China, Grigor's life was put at risk when it was revealed that the Chinese had been attempting to develop technology to allow time travel that would allow them to go back in time to alter history. It was not known how they would attempt to stop Grigor II's invasion, but they had managed to build a time machine and would have used it. Before it was powered up, however, Molotov infiltrated and destroyed the facility, taking a lethal does of radiation in the process. Grigor II had Molotov rebuilt as a cyborg, much to his subsequent horror.

[edit] Disaster in the Americas

With China conquered, Grigor II began the final phase of his predecessor's plans to conquer the world, the conquest of America. He appointed Molotov, now a General, but disillusion with war due to his near-death experience in China, to the task. Molotov successfully conquered the island of Hispanola, and then established a base for the invasion of the United States in Cuba. Grigor II then ordered Molotov to wipe out the population of Cuba, citing that it would be impractical to keep them alive.

This proved to be a major blunder on Grigor's part. Molotov refused, and defected to American agent Molly Ryan, bringing with him the plans for the Chinese time machine. It was determined that the only way to stop Grigor II's invasion would be to use this device to go back in time to stop Grigor II from ever coming to be. America successfully invaded Cuba, under the leadership of Molotov and Ryan, to build this time machine, then defended it long enough to allow the two to go back in time to try and warn the original Grigor of what would happen to his legacy. However, the facility was quickly overrun afterwards and Grigor II followed them through the time machine into the past.

[edit] Destruction

Molotov and Ryan had arrived in Voronezh, 2018, minutes too late to talk to Grigor before he could flee to Volgograd to launch his coup against the old Russian government. In a mad dash to the gates to try and reach Grigor, they are met by the sight of an advanced Titan Bomber, showing that Grigor II has taken the time machine. Shortly afterwards, Grigor II contacted Molotov, informing him that he had traveled further into the past than Molotov to arm Volgograd with advanced technology for Stoyanovich's arrival, and then announces his intentions to destroy all his enemies "past, present and future". Grigor II then launched his advanced troops to destroy Voronezh.

That was when it all went wrong. Molotov and Ryan had secured an alliance with Ukraine, originally allies of Grigor in the original unaltered timeline. With their aid, Molotov and Ryan repulsed Grigor II's advanced troops, then sent spies into the cities under his control to gain his advanced technology. With this, they crushed Grigor II's cities under heavy bombing raids, then sent troops into Volgograd. Grigor II was destroyed in the subsequent battle.
