[edit] Objectives
The Grid4All project as part of the European Union’s Sixth Framework Programme, Information Society Technologies, intends to promote the vision of democratizing the Grid as an ubiquitous utility where domestic users, small organisations and enterprises may share their own resources and services inside virtual organizations, and draw from resources on the Internet without having to individually invest and manage computing and IT resources.

The project consortium comprises the following partners from both academia and industry:

- KTH, Sweden
- Swedish Institute of Computer Science, Sweden
- Technical University of Catalonia, Spain

- Antares, Spain

- The project officially started on June 1, 2006 and has a timeframe of 30 months.
- The initial project meeting took place on June 5 and 7, 2006 in Stockholm, Sweden.
