In my opinion that was the best way to state it. I felt that I would be intruding if I gave the credit to you, because some photographers are very touchy about their work and a major change such as only using part of a picture might be found offensive. I created that version of it, from the picture you uploaded in the public domain (I admire that picture by the way). To state that "'I created this work..."' is the only option that works. On wikipedia when uploading a picture that is under the category of all rights explicitly released by author the only other options are copyright expired and not covered by copyright. If, however, you would like to give yourself credit for the work, then edit the page to say that. You might also remove your vandalism. Grey Wanderer 23:44, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

I have no problem with your using the picture or even editing it, but on first look, it looks like you are taking credit for work that you didn't do. I think it would be fair to simply leave the image un-captioned. and sorry for the extra text on each one, but I wanted to get your attention. Stevehrowe2

Hows that? I just always like to put as much information about what I upload onto wiki, just so everyone knows its not copyrighted, I didn't really expect anyone to look at that page, since its not a terribly busy article. Grey Wanderer 01:09, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I recognize that you are not necessarily trying to stir stuff up, but you really shouldn't have made the redirection changes to the University of Missouri without some discussion first. I just now noticed that it was changed, or I would have said something sooner. I'm a Mizzou grad, so I'm not playing favorites, but I'm not so sure that University of Missouri should redirect to the Mizzou article rather than the system article. I won't argue with you about moving it to the "system" title, though.

Would you care to change it back and/or introduce some discussion on the appropriate talk page? Thanks.—Lazytiger 15:33, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey, I understand your concerns completely, I made the change after realizing that there were a ton of links to "University of Missouri" that really meant MU and after doing some research found out that pages like:
  • University of Texas
  • University of Nebraska
  • University of Arkansas

all direct to the main campus. I'll put a blurb on both talk pages and see what comes of it, but I'll wait to revert anything until I hear back, because I had to change a lot of links to University of Missouri System. Thanks. Grey Wanderer | Talk 10:03, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I've just removed the IP address you added to WP:AIV. There have been no edits from that address for over 48 hours. IP addresses are frequently used by different people at different times, so blocking an address because of historic vandalism is often counter-productive. OK, Grey, I give up. You're too nice. You have resisted my complaints with nothing but patience and only minor condescension (ck. sp.). Clearly I am too personally attached to the page. Guilty as charged. You and Tubahero win this one. I will slink back into my e-bunker and find other ways to amuse myself than tweaking and following my beloved Troy, Missouri site ("my" meaning my interest, not a reference to ownership of the page! Even I know better than that). I hereby abandon all attachment to the page--sniff--sniff-- tear---Perhaps there is another page I could take an interest in. I'll poke around and see.

But Zachary Taylor DID fight in the Indian Wars of 1814 at Fort Cap au Gris, where the city (town) now stands. It is on the historical marker placed there by the Mo. Historical Society. Doesn't that count?

Sorry, I didn't see the information on the image page. You need to forward your correspondence, with headers intact, to permissions at wikimedia dot org (note that it's wikimedia, not wikipedia). Make sure that the photographer clearly releases it under cc-by, and not just for use on Wikipedia. Cheers, Mak (talk) 06:13, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm trying to understand the mention of University of Missouri in the initial paragraph of the Homecoming article. The citation in the school newspaper admits that the claim is disputed. Why remove the mention of the other two schools that I added? or would we be better of not to mention any? Hello! I noticed you are from Columbia, Missori. I was wondering if you could assist me in editing the Rock Bridge High School article, as it is in need of significant work. I am going to try to work on it some, but I am very busy in real life, and may not have much time to work on it. I think that the article needs significant amounts of work to compare to the Hickman High School article, but that Rock Bridge is a significant enough part of columbia to deserve the attention!

  I can take a picture of the school or parts of it if nessecary. 
Additionaly, I think the schools website ([1])
has some good information and could possibly be used for citations.
