Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. [edit] Forest photos
I noticed you attempted to add external links to the articles Mount Hood National Forest and Willamette National Forest. As Katr67 correctly points out, adding links to your own site is a no-no.
I see too that you have uploaded some photos such as Image:MountHoodNationalForest-OldSalmonRiverTrail.jpg:
- Thank you. That does nicely avoid the problem of linking to your own site.
- You might consider uploading media (such as photos) instead to wikimedia commons so that all languages of wikimedia may reference them.
- If you have higher resolution available, that would be preferable for upload.
- Your restriction essentially for personal use only conflicts with the ShareAlike license you selected ([1]).
If I can be of any help, please let me know. —EncMstr 23:40, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
