Talk:Greater Poland Voivodeship
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WP:UE is binding and the region of Polish Wielkopolska is called Greater Poland in English

I think it would be better to title the "counties" as "Powiat"s. Instead of "Mogilno county", the daughter article should be "Mogilno powiat". This might eliminate a few rare duplications with some other article, but it also self-describes the article as being about a Polish land region. (Similar to how the historical versions use the German name, ie "Kreis Mogilno") Bwood 08:14, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I started Wikipedia:WikiProject Polish Voivodships some time ago to settle the naming conventions for Polish Voivodships, powiats/counties and gmina/communes. Please participate. [[User:Halibutt|Halibutt]] 13:10, Sep 21, 2004 (UTC)
"(who gutted this article and why? I restored essential information and added a disambiguation)" Answer: WLKP, who I suspect is also known as "PolishPoliticians" before that and last as "Grand Duke of Poznan". This person comes on evey month or so with a new name and spends about a day making about 100 page changes, mostly to remove traces of the German history and references, or to add material that gives unrealistical importance/treatment to a Polish-pride view of history. Thanks for fixing it, I didn't go back far enough in the history to see the true story and just fixed the part that affected pages that I'm watching. Suggest you add the Poznan Voiviodship to your diambiguation, I think that it could often be confused with this article also. Bwood 01:09, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)
