Talk:Great capes

I don't think Cape Agulhas belongs here ? It is the most southerly, but it is certainly not the same as the Cape of Good Hope. Wizzy 09:54, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

No, it's not the same, but it is occasionally cited as one of the Great Capes, in place of Good Hope. Good Hope is the traditional African milestone on the clipper route, but Agulhas being the southernmost point, as well as arguably the most hazardous point, some authors/sailors prefer to treat Agulhas as the milestone instead. It makes little difference in practice, in terms of modern high-speed circumnavigations, as they're so close together. I'll try to clarify this. — Johan the Ghost seance 11:31, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Sydney is spelt Sydney, not Sidney. Template:Unsigned203.214.102.79

Sorry, my bad. I'll fix the map when I get a chance -- probably not soon, as I'm travelling. — Johan the Ghost seance 23:56, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
