[edit] Re:Cleanup notice

The article's title is "Great Mosque of Samarra", but the text is about the city itself. The mosque is hardly mentioned. either the article needs to be merged with the article on Samarra, or someone needs to put something about the mosque! Grutness...wha? 12:52, 25 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Mosque Bombing

Twice, users have added comments about this mosque being bombed. The Great Mosque of Samarra was not bombed. See Al_Askari_Mosque for the mosque that was actually bombed. Garrettcobb 21:50, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wrong minaret pictured?

Are you sure the minaret pictured is the famous spiral minaret in Samarra?? It looks too small, out of scale. Compare with other pictures. It rather looks like Abu Dulaf mosque (http://www.dur.ac.uk/derek.kennet/abudulaf.htm) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.19.70.178 (talk) 11:04, 23 January 2007 (UTC).
