Greve Municipality is a municipality (Danish, kommune) south of Copenhagen in Roskilde County on the east coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 60 km², and has a total population of 47,671 (2005). Its mayor is Hans Barlach, a member of the De Konservative (The Conservative Party) political party.

The site of its municipal council is the town of Greve.

Neighboring municipalities are Ishøj and Høje-Taastrup to the north, Roskilde to the west, and Ramsø and Solrød to the south. To the east is Køge Bay (Køge Bugt).

Greve Municipality was formed in 1970 as part of the kommunalreform ("Municipality Reform") of that year. It was established out of the following parishes:

  • Greve Parish
  • Karlslunde Parish
  • Karlslunde Strand Parish
  • Kildebrønde Parish
  • Mosede Parish
  • Tune Parish

Greve municipality was one of the few municipalities that was not merged with any others on January 1, 2007 in the nationwide Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007).

Until the 1960s the area was primarily agricultural. Today, it serves primarily as a residential municipality, functioning as a suburb for the larger Copenhagen area.
