Greigsville and Pearl Creek Railroad

There is no evidence of this railroad on the USGS topo maps or orthographic photos, nor on the 1904 series of 15' maps. Greigsville is at 752 feet above sea level, and Pearl Creek is at 955. Between the two communities is a ridge that goes up to 1200 feet, however there is a pass at Paines Corner which only goes up to 994 feet. Somehow, the railroad descends from there to Greigsville. The route of the railroad can be seen on the New York State Railroad Network. There is an entry in the Railroad History Database, but it only adds the charter date (1/26/1898) and total distance of the line. The Town Historian for Covington, NY denies the existence of this line.
