Greg Locke
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Greg Locke (born 1976 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee) is an Independent Baptist evangelist and pastor. Locke's biography states that he was a troubled adolescencent and had a long juvenile arrest record for petty offenses, partially influenced by his childhood fascination with rap music before converting to the Baptist Christianity of his grandparents in 1992. He is the author of the book, "Blinded by Benny", which is critical of the charismatic faith healer Benny Hinn. His web site states in part:
- Bro. Locke only holds meetings in “Baptistic” churches. ... He does not preach in Pentecostal and/or Charismatic churches... in “Protestant” churches, such as Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, ect. (sic) He will not in any way join forces with the Catholic Church. ...He is not a member of any convention or association. He holds meetings in churches that are of like faith and practice.
In 2004, his life story and religious conversion were dramatized on the radio program "Unshackled!".
November 5, 2006, Greg Locke became the founding pastor of Global Vision Baptist Church in Nashville, TN.
