Gregory Paul "Greg" Behrendt (born July 21, 1963) is an American stand-up comedian and best-selling author.
While his image and style differ markedly from most comics associated with the so-called alternative comedy scene, Behrendt came up as a performer alongside comics like David Cross (who he roomed with for years) and Patton Oswalt. Behrendt was a consultant for two 2001 episodes of the popular television show Sex and the City, and co-wrote the New York Times best sellers He's Just Not That Into You and It's Called a Breakup Because It's Broken. He has appeared regularly on The Tonight Show and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. His stand up special, Greg Behrendt is Uncool, debuted on Comedy Central in January of 2006. In June 2006, he appeared on Celebrity Poker Showdown, playing for a domestic violence charity (he came in second in the tournament).
Greg premiered his own daily daytime talk show called The Greg Behrendt Show on Tuesday, September 12, 2006. Sony Pictures Television announced in January 2007 that the series would not have a second season.
He is also currently taping episodes for his ABC mid-season replacement show, Greg Behrendt's Wake-up Call.
Behrendt is currently living in Los Angeles with his wife, Amiira Ruotola-Behrendt, and their two children.
