Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Kim announces that she met a new friend in Sam’s mommy and me group. Kim tells Greg that Andrea invited them over for dinner on Saturday. Greg is angry that he is forced to be friends with her husband, Alan, just because Kim knows his wife. Greg asks Jimmy why he never has to do things like that. Jimmy tells him because people find his wife repulsive. Christine is trying to pick classes for her freshman year of college. Jimmy tells her to camp out so she can get the best classes.

On Saturday, Kim tells Greg to be nice to Alan. Alan is reluctant as well. Kim and Andrea go on a tour of the house leaving Alan and Greg alone. Greg tries to talk to Alan, but he replies to every question with yep. He tells Greg he doesn’t want to talk about work, until a friend calls and Alan tells him a story about work. When they get home Greg is furious. Kim tells him that maybe Alan was shy. Greg tells her if shy means rude. Kim says Greg is the same way with other couples. Greg says they are fat cousins who get set up with their wives friends. Greg realizes that Alan thinks he is the fat cousin. Jimmy realizes that he is the fat cousin.

The next morning, a student tells Jimmy and Christine that the homeless shelter is around the corner and they are giving out turkey sandwiches. They tell them that they are in line for classes. When they leave Jimmy covers his face with dirt and beer and heads around the corner. That night, Andrea & Alan show up at The Warner’s. Andrea criticizes Kim’s decorating. Greg tells Alan he isn’t the fat cousin. He says he has plenty of friends. Alan says he has plenty of friends as well. Alan apologies. They decide to become friends. Jimmy trades someone their blanket for their spot in line. He then sees someone with Kentucky Fried Chicken and trades them as well. When Alan & Andrea leave Kim thinks Greg for handling it so well. Greg says no problem. Kim says he’ll never see them again. Kim says Andrea is getting on her nerves. Greg says next weekend they are meeting whether she likes it or not.

By morning, Christine and Jimmy are at the back of the line. The acquired a scooter, surfboard, lawn chair, guitar, and a George Formen grill. A man announces that registration is online not in line. Jimmy and Christine grab their stuff and take off. Alan invites everyone to Hawaii. Andrea calls Alan in the kitchen and tells him that she isn’t going to Hawaii with that clueless twit. Kim overhears Andrea and calls her a bitch. Greg and Alan decide that it isn’t going to work out if their wives are angry at each other. They say their goodbyes and part ways. Alan says if Kim divorces him or dies he’ll be there. During a dinner with a new couple Greg remembers the good times he had with Alan (aka: Hard Habit to Break Sequence).
