Greezed Lightnin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Greezed Lightnin' was a steel Shuttle Looper roller coaster at Six Flags AstroWorld.
Greezed Lightnin' was designed by Anton Schwarzkopf and opened in 1978. It used a flywheel launch design and accelerated its 28 riders from 0 to 60 mph in roughly 4 seconds. The launch sends the train into a loop and up a 70 degree incline 100 feet. Once the train lost momentum it proceeded back down the incline, through the loop again (backwards), through the passenger station, and up another incline 137' 10", then forward again to the passenger station, where it stopped.
It has since been relocated to Joyland Amusement Park and is scheduled to open in 2007.
