Greenwood Lake is a village in Orange County, New York, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the village population was 3,411.
The Village of Greenwood Lake is in the south part of the Town of Warwick. The village was incorporated in 1924.[1]

The village is at the north end of a lake called Greenwood Lake, which straddles the New York State and new Jersey border.
Greenwood Lake is located at GR1.
(41.222461, -74.289726)According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 6.4 km² (2.5 mi²). 5.3 km² (2.0 mi²) of it is land and 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²) of it (17.07%) is water. The lake is 5.13 miles long.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 3,411 people, 1,332 households, and 877 families residing in the village. The population density was 645.6/km² (1,668.0/mi²). There were 1,534 housing units at an average density of 290.3/km² (750.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 95.57% White, 0.76% African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.85% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.82% from other races, and 1.70% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.04% of the population.
There were 1,332 households out of which 34.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.7% were married couples living together, 11.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.1% were non-families. 26.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.18.
In the village the population was spread out with 26.6% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 34.2% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 10.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 101.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.1 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $56,076, and the median income for a family was $61,029. Males had a median income of $46,655 versus $37,328 for females. The per capita income for the village was $23,454. About 4.0% of families and 7.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.3% of those under age 18 and 7.5% of those age 65 or over.
