Greenware

Greenware is a software license which provides an end user with the right to use a particular program as he sees fit (or obtain the source code) if he makes an effort to help out the environment. The license suggests the following:

  • use only recycled computer paper
  • recycle the computer paper after you use it
  • use public transport
  • replace your 8 cylinder car with a 4 cylinder car or even a motorbike
  • support Greenpeace
  • stop smoking
  • ride a bike to work or school
  • avoid buying products that are harmful to the environment
  • stop using weed killers on your lawn
  • support Friends of the Earth
  • recycle your cans
  • avoid buying products that have lots of extra packaging
  • use a fax modem instead of a paper fax machine
  • reuse your plastic bags

  • Greenware is also clay that is air-dried but not fired to bisque.
  • Greenware is also the brand name of a 100% corn based cup produced by Fabri-Kal.
