Greenfoot

Greenfoot is an interactive Java development environment developed primarily for educational purposes. It is currently being developed by the University of Kent and Deakin University with support by Sun Microsystems. It is currently maintained by Michael Kölling and Poul Henriksen.[1]

It is based on the BlueJ development environment.

Greenfoot version 1.0 was released on 31st May 2006, but soon was updated to version 1.0.2 which fixes some minor issues found in the original release.

In February 2007 version 1.1.0 was released which added sound support, and also fixed many bugs from the earlier version.

Greenfoot is available for Windows, Mac OS and any recent JVM.
