Greendale is a city in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 722 at the 2000 census.

Greendale is located at 38°41′40″N, 90°18′52″W (38.694351, -90.314509)^GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²), all land.

As of the census^GR2 of 2000, there were 722 people, 331 households, and 201 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,327.5/km² (3,480.3/mi²). There were 343 housing units at an average density of 630.6/km² (1,653.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 31.86% White, 64.40% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.69% from other races, and 2.91% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.11% of the population.

There were 331 households out of which 28.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 39.0% were married couples living together, 18.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 39.0% were non-families. 33.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.18 and the average family size was 2.77.

In the city the population was spread out with 22.0% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 30.9% from 25 to 44, 29.1% from 45 to 64, and 12.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 76.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 72.7 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $46,083, and the median income for a family was $56,250. Males had a median income of $38,125 versus $29,306 for females. The per capita income for the city was $23,284. About 2.5% of families and 3.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 2.6% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
