Great Sensation

Great Sensation was a champion New Zealand thoroughbred stayer. He was foaled in 1952 by Cassock out of Speedyio. His nickname was Cracker. He was ridden by Bob Skelton, who rates him as the best stayer he had even ridden, even ahead of the great Show Gate. [1]

Great Sensation is remembered for his greatest achievemnent in winning three Wellington Cups in a row, 1961, 1962 and 1963.
