[edit] AfD for Bimillennium

Just a heads up - you still need to create Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bimillennium and put your reason(s) down. See WP:AFD#How_to_list_pages_for_deletion, Step II. --khaosworks (talkcontribs) 07:46, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

Ah, it's done. Sorry. --khaosworks (talkcontribs) 07:47, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cooke Manuscript

We've got a sister project for source material like this called Wikisource. Please consider changing your vote to move it there, instead of deleting it. - Mgm|(talk) 10:54, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

I moved the text to wikisource, and changed the name of the article to reflect the full name of the manuscript: The Matthew Cooke Manuscript -- Avi 22:00, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Queer pedagogy

I'm in the process of writing an article on queer pedagogy and had my first attempt wiped out by the system logging me out. So now I'm saving it as I go along. I'd appreciate it if you could wait for my article to be finished before you propose deletion.

Thanks!

[edit] Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Aymá

Since this is a copyvio, I have blanked it and listed it at WP:CP. Could you cut and paste the English stub you wrote to Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Aymá/Temp? If I do it, it won't show the proper page history. Thank you, Kusma (討論) 05:13, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

Done. Grandmasterka 09:10, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:RFA/Quarl

Hi Linden, thanks for your support in my RFA, which succeeded. If I can ever improve or help in any way, please let me know! :) Quarl (talk) 2006-02-16 12:13Z

[edit] Prospect Park

What are you plans for cleaning up the article? What needs to be done? After looking at how you butched your revision, i am interested in knowing what you plan to do. Thanks, and please dont take this as an advesarial commentation. --Gephart 00:48, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Not much more needs to be done as far as cleanup. I would like to expand each of the paragraphs and add a long history section. Having lived in prospect park for my entire life, there's a whole lot I could do with this -- it never occurred to me to look up Prospect Park before. And yes, I don't think I've ever done such a large rewrite before, I winced when I saw the edit history too. Grandmasterka 02:10, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Oh, and I also plan on working on the other Minneapolis neighborhoods when I have time. Grandmasterka 06:08, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Congressional Districts

Hello, I saw that you signed up on the USC WP to work on congressional districts. That looks like a good idea to me, do you know a standard template? I've looked at many of them, and so far they seem fairly random. If nothing else, we could create a standard, as I don't see many other people being interested in this mini-project. I'm in Minnesota as well, so I'll start with those districts. Feel free to respond on my userpage, probably won't notice for a while otherwise. --Mathwizard1232 03:51, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sword breaker

Hi, would you be willing to reconsider your vote at this discussion? What you located are modern "replica" weapons. Many modern manufacturers create "replicas" of fantasy weapons that never really existed. I found this page while I was categorizing weapons for Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Middle Ages task force and I really don't see any way to save it. Durova 04:38, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adam Gray

After you prodded it, someone removed the tag without providing a reason. I sent it to AfD for consideration. Thought you might like to know. NickelShoe 04:27, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Catarina Eufémia

Thanks for your really good work on the article! I never had the time to create it and I did not wanted to add the reference to Catarina in the history of the PCP without the article. Nice work! Thanks! Afonso Silva 19:22, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Why thank you. GrandmasterkaImage:Blend Flag.jpgImpart wisdom 19:25, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

sorry, I'm not a native speaker, what do you mean with "why thank you"? Sorry if I seem stupid. And thank you also for creating the article about Aboim Inglez. Nice translations, may I ask for the origin of your interest in Portuguese persons? Regards. Afonso Silva 00:53, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Sometimes we say "why thank you" instead of "thank you" to show more flattery. I'm trying to improve my Spanish and Portuguese (and my edit count) and I think translating articles is a great way to do it. I ran across Catarina Eufémia as the featured article on the Pt. wikipedia and there was nothing here, so I translated the whole thing. Now I'm trying to fill in that sequence of poet redlinks on Catarina's article. I have no personal ties to Portugal or communism. [edit] Michael Tang

You are right, of course. I'm biting and feeding. I'm backing off the AfD because I know it'll pass. Just frustrated by the whole thing, you know? Arrghhh...anyway, happy editing. TKE 02:14, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Native language?

Why do you want to know about my native language? --TBC??? ??? ??? 07:10, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Claw Your Way to the Top AfD

I write briefly to acknowledge your "keep" vote and to say that in part I surely agree with what you say, scilicet, that perhaps the encyclopedia would be better had each of the Dave Barry books its own page (and not a depressing red link). I gather that we approach deletion (especially in view of notability) rather differently (for example, I likely would vote "delete" on the Cam Gordon article you created were there an AfD), but providing the opportunity for us to express our sundry views in order best to ascertain the views of the community writ large is surely what AfD is all about, and I am glad that Monicasdude and you didn't simply pile on with delete votes (as would be so easy to do); even as we disagree as to the proper disposition of the article, I think the betterment of the enyclopedia is clearly foremost in each of our minds. I apprehend--please feel free to disabuse me of this notion if I'm wrong--that you likely think it better that the article should exist in its present form than not at all; perhaps that's a false dilemma, but, as I said at the article's AfD page, so often articles that survive deletion in view of a user's expression of intent to clean them up are never made better. I generally think that, if the choice is between a poorly-constructed or -written article and no article at all, the latter is preferable, although I readily concede that that view likely leaves me in the minority and that, even as I argue for that view, I must respect that consensus generally exists to go the other way. Indeed, as a result of the AfD discussion, I think I may create pages for the Dave Barry books I have read (Dave Barry Turns 40, Dave Barry Slept Here: A Sort of History of the United States, Tricky Business, and Dave Barry Hits Below the Beltway: A Vicious and Unprovoked Attack on Our Most Cherished Political Institutions); I hope those links will soon turn blue. [edit] Image:Blend Flag.jpg

Hi, I just deleted Image:Blend Flag.jpg as per your PROD, but unfortunately you used a thumbnail version of it in your signature last week, meaning now your old signature looks like this (except for the colors): GrandmasterkaError creating thumbnail: convert: unable to open image `/mnt/upload3/wikipedia/en/a/a5/Blend_Flag.jpg': No such file or directory. convert: missing an image filename `/mnt/upload3/wikipedia/en/thumb/a/a5/Blend_Flag.jpg/30px-Blend_Flag.jpg'. [edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Faculdade de Engenharia Elétrica e da Computação da Universidade Estadual de Campinas

Ah ok, thanks for that. Must admit I get a bit of a red mist come over me when I see what looks like "This isnt English, delete it and send it back home!". Jcuk 20:57, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Silvio Rivas

First, thanks for finishing the translation. i can learn from it. Second, thanks for moving it along thru the process. in AfD people can keep it, toss it, or canabalize it. i think the comic book elements might be useful additions to those topics. (as a newby i hesitate to give my opinion, but here i think it'll get limited exposure. in a few superficial searches for Silvio Rivas i got no hits for this particular Silvio Rivas.) i learned the need to confirm the topic's value before translation. but i had fun. [edit] Thanks for Translation Tips

thanks for the tips, such as the redlinks (blank topics) in the en wiki, the topic redirects for many possible spellings or topics for those wandering in wikiland, and the interwiki link recommendation. i had scanned the interwiki section and it seemed interesting, important, and also valuable. i've been mulling over a lot of the ideas you relayed, so your tips are handy and timely.

the Geology of the Falkland Islands i've been working on has been interesting and educational in terms of both geology and translation. it was a machine translation, which i learned can produce a mess. it's like it was translated by someone with unlimited access to esspreso, a library full of language books but no knowledge of the language. in some ways it's very good but mostly it's very bad and confusing. then it seemed as though well-meaning editors came along and tried to edit the machine translation nonsense into something coherent. the result seemed to be that info ended up wrong or lost. i usually just did a fresh translation of each section. it's not done yet. i started in the middle and worked toward the end, now i'm starting at the article's begining. i'll check out the vichy article.

Why is AsianWhite.org page a candidate for deletion? Please do not link me to the deletion policies page because I can't figure out which one it is from there. --21:00 March 31 (PST) User:Dark Tichondrias
