Hum. "Gallery of History" is a Las Vegas based auction house for memorabilia and especially autographed photographs. They also have a online sale site at www.historyforsale.com. This image comes from a closed auction, and of course they do make a (very likely spurious) copyright claim. Lupo 10:33, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Licensing

Public license

This image is in the public domain in the United States. In most cases, this means that it was first published in the United States prior to January 1, 1923 (see the talk page for more cases). Other jurisdictions may have other rules, and this image might not be in the public domain outside the United States. See Wikipedia:Public domain and Wikipedia:Copyrights for more details.

Probably yes, although it's a 1927 image. However, it would be good to know whether it was published or not. If so, was the coypright ever registered or renewed? If not, who was Ed N. Jackson (the photographer), and when did he die? Lupo 10:33, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
