From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gravesend & Northfleet F.C. are an English football team currently playing in the Nationwide Conference. They play their home matches at Stonebridge Road in Northfleet, but the club are now looking to build a new stadium in Gravesend. The team in the media are often called simply (and incorrectly) called Gravesend F.C.
[edit] History
Gravesend & Northfleet FC was formed in 1946, following the Second World War, after a merger between Gravesend United FC (originally formed in 1893) and Northfleet United FC (originally formed in 1890) with the new club retaining the red & white home colours (and the Stonebridge Road stadium) of Northfleet United FC.
The current manager is former Coventry City defender Liam Daish, and the assistant manager is Alan Kimble, who used to play for Wimbledon. Gravesend and Northfleet have also been managed in the recent past by Andy Ford, who resigned after a GLS Cup game after an extended run of poor fixtures, only to pursue a coaching job at Stevenage Borough F.C. a few months later.
