Grant Bell was the first coach of the North Queensland Cowboys in 1995.

In 1995 Grant Bell was a new face on the Winfield Cup coaching scene, His extensive experience in junior development and in the lower grades at the Gold Coast enabled Bell to recruit many of the Gold Coast's best young players to provide the nucleus of the Cowboys first side in 1995.
He went on to coach the North Queensland Young Guns, the Cowboys' feeder club in 2005 and won the Queensland Cup.
He is currently the assistant coach to Graham Murray at the North Queensland Cowboys.
