Grant (グラント) is a video game character and is the mid-boss from the fighting game Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

[edit] Background

Grant is a loyal companion to Kain R. Heinlein, staying right by Kain's side as Kain pursues his goal. They have been best friends for many years. His real name is Abel Cameron. Back when he and Kain were younger and living in the slums, the two of them bore witness to some thugs beating up a boy. The boy did not fight back, hoping that the thugs would eventually relent, but they did not, and the boy was killed. Kain and Abel buried the boy at the beach, and Kain swore that he would not die like a dog, as this boy had. He would do whatever it took to gain power and strength, to be able to have anything he wanted. Loyal as ever, Abel swore to follow him.

As Kain manipulated the underworld to his own advantage and rose to prominence and power, Abel served as his enforcer. Eventually, others became resentful of Kain's meteoric ascent, and retaliated by trying to have Abel killed. Abel was shot in the chest, but miraculously survived, though it affected his motor skills, and the bullet was too close to his heart to be surgically removed. It is said that, when the bullet finally works its way into the man's heart, he would finally breathe his last.
