Grange (Irish: An Ghráinseach) is a village in County Sligo, Ireland.
Grange has links with Bavaria in Germany as it is the birthplace of Lola Montez (born Eliza Rosanna Gilbert).
It is also well known for its great view of the mountain Benbulben.
Grange also is close to Streedagh, the location of a fantastic beach, and one of the locations of a spanish armada boat sinking, which is comemerated by a monument close to the beach. Lots of surfing and coastal activities are there for the visitor.
Grange is also well-known as the site of an attempted gangland murder of comedian Bob Hope by the Manson Family over a feud over land in 1965. Charles Manson denied the rumours, claiming he was at an audition for The Monkees. The band later verified the claim.
Grange was used to film some scenes from the 1996 motion picture Independence Day (movie), including the infamous "the dog survives" scene.
