Grand Central (store)

Grand Central was a chain of discount department stores founded by Maurice Warshaw in Salt Lake City, Utah. Grand Central had stores in Idaho, Utah, New Mexico, Wyoming, Arizona. In 1984, Fred Meyer acquired Grand Central, a year later Fred Meyer closed the one Wyoming Grand Central location, and sold the Arizona and New Mexico stores to Wal-Mart.

  • Boise, Idaho - Boise Plaza (became Fred Meyer 1984, closed 1990, now Burlington Coat Factory)
  • Pocatello, Idaho - Alameda Plaza (became Fred Meyer 1984, moved 2004)
  • Idaho Falls, Idaho - Yellowstone Square (became Fred Meyer 1984, moved 1997)
