Graham Yost is a Canadian film and television screenwriter. His most famous works are the hit 1994 film Speed (despite not actually writing the majority of the dialogue — Joss Whedon did [1]), Broken Arrow, and Hard Rain.
He has also written for the television series Herman's Head, Band of Brothers, and Boomtown. More recently, he is the creator of the NBC drama Raines starting Jeff Goldblum that premiered on March 15, 2007.
He is the son of Canadian television personality Elwy Yost, the longtime host of the public broadcaster TVOntario's Saturday Night at the Movies. When Graham was a child, his father once sent him to school with the note "Graham is late for school because I had him stay up late to watch Citizen Kane."
