Graham Leonard
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Graham Douglas Leonard, KCVO, is a British cleric. He was a bishop of the Church of England (Anglican) who converted to Roman Catholicism. On 3 August 2000 the Pope appointed him a Prelate of Honour.
He was the Bishop of Truro from 1973 to 1981 and then the Bishop of London from 1981 to 1991. During this period he was also Dean of the Chapel Royal, a Royal Household office, for which he was appointed Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.
An outspoken critic of moves to ordain women to the priesthood within the Anglican Communion, Leonard left the Church of England and, by papal dispensation, received conditionally priestly ordination in the Roman Catholic Church in 1994. Mgr Leonard is married and has two sons.
