"Graduation (Friends Forever)" is a single by Vitamin C. Its chord progression is based on that of Pachelbel's Canon in D major. Not only is the progression Pachelbel's, but the verse's melody seems to be heavily borrowed from Mott the Hoople's "All The Young Dudes" (penned by David Bowie).
The song reached tremendous success in all kinds of graduation parties and events, notably for those related to high schools, and it remains very popular for that occasion; around summer, the song gets heavy airplay on Radio Disney. It has appeared on the iTunes Music Chart at the end of every school year since the chart's inception.[citation needed] A remake was recorded by teen pop group, The Truth Squad.
The single reached #38 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her second and final single to reach the Top 40. It also reached #2 in the Australian ARIA Charts.
