Graduate Institute of Development Studies

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Graduate Institute of Development Studies (GIDS, French: Institut universitaire d’études du développement, IUED) was created in 1961, under the name Institut Africain de Genève.

GIDS has the main objective of promoting teaching and research concerning development and to encourage students from the South.

It aims to raise diverse questions (social, economic, environmental) and to strengthen links between theory and experience, reflection and action. The Graduate Institute of Development Studies is attached to (but independent of) the University of Geneva.
