Gröden-Val Gardena

The Gherdëina Valley (Italian: Val Gardena; German: Grödental; Ladin: Val Gherdëina) is one of the five valleys in the Dolomites with a majority of Ladin speakers (two of these valleys are in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano-Bozen). The form of the Ladin language spoken in this valley is called Gardenese in Italian, Grödnerisch in German and Gherdëina in Ladin.

The valley is formed by three villages:
- Urtijëi (it: Ortisei; de: St. Ulrich)
- Sëlva (it: Selva; de: Wolkenstein)
- Santa Crestina (it: Santa Christina; de: St. Christina)

Gherdeina has a hockey-team, HC Gherdeina, which plays in Serie A2 in Italy.
Carolina Kostner is a famous figure skater and cousin of Isolde Kostner, the famous ski-champion.
