[edit] Format
Grand Prix Racing Online is a web based motor sport management game, where you get to control and influence a team of your own. Sign drivers, technical directors, and staff. Negotiate with sponsors, and other managers to form teams. Set up your car for qualifying and the race, and set your strategy in order to become the best manager and win the Elite group title.[1]
Races are run on Tuesdays and Fridays, at which time "the offices are closed" and participants are allowed only to watch the race unfold.
[edit] Structure
Each season consists of 17 races. Depending on the number of points players earn during the season, they may either be promoted to the next higher level of competition or relegated to the next lower level. This system of promotion and relegation is common throughout a growing number of online management simulators such as Managerzone and Hattrick. There are currently four levels; Rookie, Amateur, Master, and Elite.
Many aspects of the game, such as point distribution (10 points for 1st, 8 for 2nd, etc), are modeled after Formula 1.
There are a fixed number of grids, or leagues, at each level in which the players compete. Elite has only one grid, Master has 3, Amateur has 9, and Rookie has 27. There are up to 40 teams in each grid, which means that there are only 1,600 potential players. As such, there is a waiting list to join the game, and players are replaced after each race based on inactivity.
