Emperor Goyeolga is accounted in historical record Hwandan Gogi to be the 47th and the last Emperor of Go-Joseon Empire of Korea.

It has been recorded that during the decay of Go-Joseon, Goyeolga abdicated the throne to a council of regency and entered the mountain to be a hermit. The breaking up of Go-Joseon led to the warring period of many nations for a number of centuries, according to Hwandan Gogi, which lasted until the 1st century with the development of the Three Kingdoms period.
