Talk:Gowanus, Brooklyn

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

While the Gowanus neighborhood in Brooklyn has in the past been known for it's industrial activity, in recent years with Manhattan becoming ever more expensive, the area has become more appealing for residential development. Many condos have been built and industrial loft and garment buildings rezoned to become living spaces for affluent-hipster types. The area remains affordable due to it's history. Also, the near by canal is where the Sopranos would dump bodies. It is a colorful neighborhood, and its close proximity to parks and the waterfront, as well as accessibility to freeway access and available street parking make it a charming and convenient place to reside.
