Shouldn't this be moved to Governor General's Literary Award? (Which currently redirects to this page). After all, there are several other Governor General's Awards. -Rholton 04:03, Apr 27, 2005 (UTC)

On one hand, most people would associate the Governor General's Awards with the literary awards, as they were the first (I believe) and are the best known. What are the other Governor General's Awards? I know of the Governor General's Literary Awards and the Governor General's Awards in Visual and Media Arts. (There are also Governor General’s Medals in Architecture, but, strictly speaking, these are not Awards.) The Canada Council page on awards, [1], gives no other examples.
On the other hand, this move might be encyclopaedically correct. In this case, should not the Governor General's Award become a disambiguation page, with links to the Governor General's Literary Award page and the new Governor General's Awards in Visual and Media Arts page? On the third hand, maybe the content of Governor General's Award page should be expanded to include not only the Literary Awards but also the Awards in Visual and Media Arts. Grstain 12:47, Apr 28, 2005 (UTC)
Would this not become a bit cumbersome, a huge list? If no one objects, I would like to begin the process of separating the awards: one page for the generic topic, Gov. Gen. Awards and then links to Lit and VisArts. Freshacconci 16:17, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
