Govindgarh is a town in district Rewa of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is situated at a distance of 19 km from Rewa on National highway –7. It was the old capital of Vindhyan state. It is famous for scenic beauty, mangoes and the white tiger. The Govindgarh palace on the banks of a huge lake houses the personal museum of Maharaja of Rewa. The first white tiger, Mohan, captured in 1951 in the nearby jungles, was kept in this palace till his death. The small islands in the lake have been developed for tourists.
