It was established in 1961 as a part of The Teachers' Training College. The honourable Khan Muhammad Salek was its first Head Master. It has placed more students in the National Merit List than any other schools in the S.S.C examination over the years[citation needed].
In the liberation war of the country Bangladesh in 1971, three students of this school sacrificed their lives for the freedom[citation needed].
