[edit] A standard term?

The lack of sources flagged on the main page suggests that this is not a term in regular use among scholars, critics, reviewers, and other commentators on SF--I found one example in the title of an essay on Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde and an odd appearance in a Britannica article on Arthur Machen, but otherwise it shows up almost entirely in blogs and Amazon reviews. It's certainly a useful descriptive term (lots of SF--and mysteries and romances--have "gothic" qualities and motifs), but it is not, as the article suggests, a true subgenre. Unless someone can supply examples of authoritative uses of the term as a genre label, I'd suggest deletion of the article. RLetson 05:50, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
