[edit] Go Sailor

This was a non-notable band as per the criteria set out in WP:Music. Please do not repost speedily deleted material. (aeropagitica) 08:07, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Go Sailor is a notable band.

I'd apologize for putting up an article for this band, however I am not sorry. However, I do believe you had good intentions, there are many bands who just put their articles here and then they break up the next day.

Let's see, I am not in Go Sailor, I do not know anyone in Go Sailor. They broke up 10 years ago. i did however hear one of their songs on the radio and I thought it was very good, so i looked it up on the wikipedia, but there was no article. Fortunately there were 100's of thousands of articles on google. I went to answers.com, and there was the article. I found it strange that answers.com claimed wikipedia had an article about Go Sailor, when in actuality it does not. So I copied the article from answers.com and pasted it here. I was not aware it was recently sppeedy deleted. therefore it is notable enough for someone to rewrite an article about it after they broke up.

And Go Sailor meets three of the notability criteria as listed in the wikipedia notable musician policy.

Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable). True, released albums on Lookput Records

Has been featured in multiple non-trivial published works in reliable and reputable media (excludes things like school newspapers (although university newspapers are usually fine), personal blogs, etc.) True I count 4 reputable sources within the first page of results on google.

Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such. true Rose Melberg.

Therefvore I am going to put this back up again.

Thank you, however for doing your best to make the wikipedia a better place for information, I know that they are not known by everyone and you were just trying to eliminate real no notable bands, and you may have been thrown off by my user name, which i created last night, becuase i forgot my password to my typical username so i created a new one.

PS these criteria are a little harsh wouldn't you agree?

Well at least go sailor falls into them. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gosailorboy (talkcontribs).

Firstly, sign your comments with four tildes, ~~~~, as this makes it easier to respond to editors. Secondly, if you think that a deleted article should be restored, take your business case to Wikipedia:Deletion review instead of reposting it. Thirdly, I don't agree that the criteria are too harsh as I am the admin who applied them. (aeropagitica) 23:08, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

i am confused about this deletion review Gosailorboy 23:19, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Read the white boxout at Wikipedia:Deletion_review#Decisions_to_be_reviewed and follow the instructions inside. You might want to give a concise version of the above as your business case. Look at the other discussions on the page for guidance. Goodnight! (aeropagitica) 23:28, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
