Gossip is a double album recorded by Paul Kelly & The Coloured Girls and originally released in 1986.
It was released on Mushroom Records in Australia and was the debut album for Paul Kelly & The Coloured Girls.
It has been released in several different configurations. Initially a double album with 24 tracks, it was edited down to a single 15-track LP for North American release (with a handful of tracks being remixed, and the running order changed). When released on CD in North America, Gossip featured 17 tracks. All North American releases were credited to Paul Kelly & The Messengers, rather than Paul Kelly & The Coloured Girls, it being feared that the "Coloured Girls" name might offend some Americans.
Meanwhile, the initial Australian CD release contained 21 tracks. Once the Gossip LP fell out of print, this was the only commercially available version of the album from the mid-1990s until 2005. In 2005, a special deluxe 2-CD version was released in Australia which contained all 24 tracks.
