Goshen Township, Auglaize County, Ohio

Goshen Township is one of fourteen townships of Auglaize County, Ohio. It contains the hamlet of New Hampshire and the southeastern part of it is in the former Virginia Military District. Goshen Township contains just less than eighteen square miles. It had a population of 523 in 2000, up from 487 in 1990. It is the smallest township in terms of both population and area in Auglaize County.
Goshen Township is bordered on the north by Wayne Township; on the west by Union Township and Clay Township; on the south by Stokes Township in Logan County.; and on the east by Roundhead Township in Hardin County.
The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it. There is also an elected township clerk, who serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election. Vacancies in the clerkship or on the board of trustees are filled by the remaining trustees.
The Waynesfield-Goshen School District encompasses a large part of the township, with small portions in the northeast served by the Upper Scioto Valley Local School District.
The township is served by the Wapakoneta (45895) post office, the Waynesfield post office (45896) and the Lakeview (43331) post office. The hamlet of New Hampshire has its own zip code (45870).
