Hi friends and colleagues, My actual name is Nyagah A. S. Mbae. I am a tour consultant/lecturer based in Meru, Kenya. From the time I started selling gorilla safaris, I took the nick name Gorillasafaris which I like very much. It keeps on reminding me what I am supposed to be doing, selling tour packages and changing your lifestyle for better. My company is called R&N Xplorer Africa Safaris.

Besides selling gorilla and wildlife safaris, I am also a tours and travel instructor. I particularly love this part of my job. It gives lots of satisfaction. I am particularly pround when I visit the travel or tour agencies only to find my students serving me. Airport departures are equaly a pround moment when my former students want to know where the teacher is going. But nothing beats the upgrades that I enjoy on board an aircraft when one of my former student comes and upgrades me from my miserable economy to first or business class.

Teaching may not pay well but show me anybody worthy a mention who has not passed through the hands of teachers. My programme is geared towards making travel and tourism professionals self reliance.

I am also a third rate writer. Having worked in the tourism industry for long, I tend to advertise. That is why my article on Nyungwe forest may look biased but that is about life. Who is not biased out there? Nyungwe forest is the only remainig large track of Mountain rain forest in Africa. It is a tribute to the world that conservation is not a new phenomenon in Africa but a long established tradition. Now that brings me to another issue. Have ever visited mountain gorillas in their natural habitat? Every one coming to Africa talks of the big five. The popularity of the mountain gorilla seems to be challenging this establishment. It has gone to claim its position not only in terms of its superiority in the evolutionary calendar but also in terms of the expenses involved. A permit for visiting mountain gorillas goes to the tune of USD 375.00. Despite the expense and the energy involved, the exitement of sighting the gorilla is shortlived. I am also a true believer of the word of God and I have gone ahead to fulfill his first commission to human kind-multiply and fill the earth. This is a big commission as one needs to be very careful not to fill other peoples portion. I mean everybody is allocated his own portion. Likewise some of us think that the commission an afterthought and they have decided to ignore it all together in the name service to God, rather the church. Marriage and bringing up children in alien to them. What I am saying in circles is that I am married to one beautiful daughter of the soil and I have been blessed with a son and a daughter.
