If he was the brother of Jacob Abbott who founded a school for young girls in 1829, his last name should be spelled ABBOTT, not ABBOT. An error exists and it ought to be corrected. New International Encyclopedia spells his name this way: ABBOTT. GhostofSuperslum 19:00, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Another man named John Stevens Cabot Abbott was a brother of Jacob Abbott, too. Both of their names are spelled ABBOTT. GhostofSuperslum 19:12, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

His brothers' last name was ABBOTT, so I am moving the page to Gorham Dummer Abbott because his last name was ABBOTT, too. GhostofSuperslum 21:01, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
