Gorges State Park

Gorges State Park is a state park of the U.S. state of North Carolina. Located near Sapphire, North Carolina, it covers 7,100 acres (29 kmĀ²) and includes part of the Jocasee Gorges in Transylvania County. The land was purchased by the state from Duke Energy Corporation in 1999. It is North Carolina's westernmost state park and one of the state's newest. The park is adjacent to part of the Nantahala National Forest and the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission's Toxaway Game Land.
