Goldsboro High School is a inner-city public high school located in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Montrell Coley In 1996, Coley broke North Carolina's high school single-season rushing record for football in his senior year, rushing for 3,456 yards. To date, he is the only football player in the school's history to have his jersey number (44) retired.

David Thornton (football) Thornton is currently a linebacker in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans.

Clyde King Former Pro baseball player, Sports Hall of Famer at GHS.

Jerry Narron Also a Pro Baseball player, and also a sports Hall of Famer.

Andy Griffith also taught English at Goldsboro High School for a few years. He is credited by many for creating the high school's marching band, which, to date, has been one of the most prolific high school bands in history.
