Goldenplec[1] is an Irish music website aimed at supporting Irish music artists and music news in Ireland. Goldenplec is free for use by all users.

Goldenplec is an established Irish music website which promotes music from Ireland. It is also home to a friendly forum-based community around which discussion of upcoming gigs of local and international artists takes place. Goldenplec was established in 2003 when a group of students decided what was available online at that time was not good enough and set about setting up a better and more useful website for the promotion of local bands and avalibility of general music news.

Goldenplec tries to keep its focus varied on topics such as Irish Music Festivals, International Artists Gigs, Local Gigs by talented Irish bands and songwriters. It also has an arcade and a chatroom section.

In its 3 to 4 years since inception Goldenplec has run 3 gigs for charity and 4 smaller gigs.

The first two gigs held by goldenplec were hosted by the prestigious Temple Bar Music Centre and were charity gigs for the Temple Street Childrens Hospital. €1600 was raised between both nights for the hospital.

The third gig was held in the Sugar Club on Leeson Street and raised €600 for the Asian Tsunami relief fund.

Since these 2 gigs there has been 3 further gigs in Rivervalley Community Centre Hall, Swords, Dublin.

These gigs were aimed at raising awareness of local Swords bands and awareness of Goldenplec in Swords. Bands Like 21 Demands (Currently on RTE's Your a Star), Blue Syndrome, The LSD's, TKO and more.

Recently Goldenplec ran a smaller gig, there first non charity gig with 4 Swords bands in the Boom Boom Room @ Parnell Street, Dublin

Spotlight - One Band's song will randomly be chosen for display on the main page.
Forum - Every band signing up on Goldenplec can request their own forum.

Music lovers can join the site and find new bands, listen to their music, comment on the music and participate in the Goldenplec community forum and discuss local and international music and gigs happening in Ireland.
