Golden Hamster Saga

The Golden Hamster Saga is a series of books written by German author Dietolf Reiche, and translated by John Brownjohn. The black and white pictures are draw by Joe Cepeda. The are about a golden hamster named Freddy Auratus, two silly guinea pigs named Enrico and Caruso, a black, civilized tomcat named Sir William, and Freddy's owner, Mr. John, who translates German to English.

- Enrico & Caruso - Enrico is a smaller guinea pig who has light orange spots over white fur. Caruso is a large guinea pig who has grey fur with white spots. They are usually making fun of Freddy. They say guinea pigs are superior to golden hamsters. They enjoy singing songs and writing plays.
- Freddy Auratus - A golden hamster who has a yellowish-white underbelly. He is a very smart hamster and can read and write, but only with a keyboard. He is often taunted with Enrique and Caruso's insults.
- Sir William - Sir William is a tom cat who is very "respectable" as he says he will not kill an animal for food. He only eats food that he did not kill.

- I, Freddy - Follows freddy going to a new home.
- Freddy in Peril - Freddy is stalked by an evil scientist.
- Freddy to the Rescue - Freddy saves some Field hamsters.
- The Haunting of Freddy - Freddy is haunted by a ghost during his vacation at a castle.
- Freddy's Final Quest (Available April 2007)
