Golden Axe Warrior
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Golden Axe Warrior was a RPG spin-off of the popular Golden Axe game series. The game was released on the Sega Master System in 1991. The plot of the game followed a young warrior who was trying to avenge the death of his parents by exploring ten labyrinths, collecting nine missing crystals and battling with The big boss Death Adder inside the last. The infamous Death Adder, from Golden Axe, makes a cameo as the boss of the game.
Although gaming magazines bashed it for being a ripoff of The Legend of Zelda, the game is commonly welcomed as a SEGA classic, and some Sega fans feel that it is an equal to the Zelda series. How the SNES Zelda version, you need to cross a big world with many enemies and find the mysterious labyrinths with several traps, monsters and a boss monster that guard one of the crystals.
It is often speculated that this was actually the intended first entry into a series, but rumors of any planned sequels are, as far as is known, baseless. A Game Gear title was apparenty planned, but became another game instead.
