[edit] History

The airline was established in late 2004 by the current owners of Trans States Airlines. GoJet was supposed to start on 1 August 2005, but began services on 4 October 2005 instead. The initial fleet consists of three 66-seat Bombardier CRJ-700 regional jets. Current plans will expand the fleet to five aircraft within the first six months with an additional seven aircraft joining the fleet by January 2006.

[edit] Controversy

The airline has come under heavy fire from Trans States pilots unionized by the Air Line Pilots Association. GoJet is accused of being an "alter-ego" airline created to circumvent union contracts, work rules, pay and scope clauses. Some Trans States pilots have gone so far as to set up a Web site, "GoJetPilots.com" to blacklist employees of the new airline who try to fly in the jumpseat on flights operated by union pilots. For those seeking an educated alternative viewpoint, it should be noted that reading the blog at gojet411.blogspot.com would be very helpful in clearing up the confusion. However, the GoJet pilots have voted to have Teamsters represent them. The author(s) of the "GoJetPilots.com" website, as of 25 May 2006, have yet issued a statement regarding this. However as of 30 July 2006, it appears that the site has been removed.

[edit] Fleet

The GoJet Airlines fleet includes the following aircraft (at August 2006) [2] :

The airline has taken options on 35 more CRJ-700s.
